The Surveyors Association of West Jersey will have its monthly meeting this Thursday April 13th. Our guest speaker for this event will be Michael Popoloski, PLS of PSE&G. Mr. Popoloski  will be discussing “Surveying next to PSE&G property, PSE&G record access procedures and safety.

It is sure to be an informative and interesting discussion so come with your questions such as Easement vs ROW ; location of monuments, how easement widths are determined, where is the info held or filed, contact numbers, trespass issues, safety issues, is a permit required, etc.

The newly revised Elevation Certificate (FEMA form 086-0-33) can now be accessed at
https://www.fema.gov/media-library/assets/documents/160 .

The following revisions were made to the Elevation Certificate:
• Items A8 and A9 now allow alpha characters.
• If the wrong box is checked in Item B12 (CBRS or OPA), highlight and delete to remove
the selection.
• Section C2a-h and Section E have been adjusted to allow correct rounding for decimal
input.
• A “Clear Photo” button to the right of the caption box will allow deletion of a photo.

The expiration date of this form is November 30, 2018.

Come join the discussion at the NJ Geospatial Forum Boundary Task Force!

The Boundary Task Force of the NJ Geospatial Forum was created earlier this year to encourage open discussion and cross-education between GIS users and surveyors.

Mission Statement

The mission of the NJGF Boundary Task Force is to educate and develop standards on the matter of legal boundaries for the purpose of protecting the public, GIS and surveying communities while increasing the value and reliability of the data in the State’s enterprise GIS.

Goals

  • Educate the GIS & Engineering communities and the public as to what a boundary is, how a boundary is created and their legal ramifications.
  • Educate the GIS, Surveying & Engineering communities to the terminology of GIS parcels and Surveying boundary and when they should be used.
  • Develop consistent standards for submission of surveys and survey data into the state’s enterprise GIS.
