January 10, 2019

MINUTES OF MEETING

Carlucci’s Waterfront

876 Centerton Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054

Treasurer Rick Sapio called the meeting to order at 6:50 pm.  Mr. Sapio asked the membership present to go around the room and make introductions.

The floor was turned over to tonight’s speaker.

SPEAKER

 The speaker tonight is Lou Marchuk, P.E. and P.L.S. currently with Arora and Associates, formerly of the NJDOT.  The topic discussed tonight is the NJDOT Right of Way plans and General Property Parcel Maps.

Mr. Marchuk focused his discussion on the preparation of NJDOT maps and how the survey should interpret them.  Discussion was also held regarding how the surveyors can obtain the information the NJDOT has on hand.  Most of the membership agreed that this information can be invaluable for certain projects.

Mr. Marchuk took questions from the membership throughout the lecture and distributed material to aid the surveyor in the future.

There were no minutes for the business meeting in December, 2018.

TREASURER REPORT

Treasurer, Richard Sapio presented the following financial report, dated December 13, 2018

SAWJ has sent a check in the amount of $250.00 to NJSPLS for the scholarship fund in the name of John Gellenthin.

 DIRECTOR’S REPORT

No Director’s Report at this time.

OLD BUSINESS

There was no old business at this time.

NEW BUSINESS

Discussion was held regarding the possibility of moving the February meeting date so as not to conflict with Valentine’s Day.  Rick Sapio decided to poll the membership to determine the best course of action.

Appreciation was given to Lou Marchuk for his role in obtaining speakers for the SAWJ meetings.  All membership agreed that Mr. Marchuk should be commended.

CLOSING

 At 9:40 pm it was moved to adjourn the business meeting; seconded, and approved by voice-vote.
